IFFA: Learn – Research – Relationships

With over 20 years of involvement in the meat industry, I am excited to attend this year’s IFFA event. The global meat industry stops every three years and heads to Frankfurt, Germany to explore the latest technologies and consumer trends. It is a fantastic forum to reconnect with old friends and after many years in the industry I really enjoy checking in with my mates from across the globe. Discussing the latest meat processing technologies and hot trends in retail ready products is what it’s all about.

This year as part of my travels, I will be visiting a large beef processor in the UK, a beef and lamb plant in Switzerland and a pork plant in Germany. Along with the plant tours I will be visiting a number of large supermarkets to explore and gain an understanding of the latest consumer trends and retail ready products.
I’m looking forward to seeing the latest trends and technologies but I’m also looking forward to the experience of tasting it all. Drinking Guinness with a corned beef brisket sandwich at 8:00 am at Heathrow yesterday was just the be beginning.
