Sunnybank Hills State School is set to grow, with demolition and construction underway by Wiley to accommodate the school and community for new growth. This is the first stage of a master plan which provides Sunnybank Hills State School with the capacity for future builds.
The project, valued at $8.64 million is being delivered by Wiley, The Project Delivery Company who has been on site since August. The project consists of demolition of modular buildings, shade structures, playground and associated amenities followed by the construction of a new architecturally designed 2-story building containing 19 General Learning Areas (GLA), five outdoor learning areas, numerous large undercover areas and amenities.
Wiley Senior Project Manager Tom Wilson said, “it’s fantastic to be on site at Sunnybank Hills State School. While the school had to sacrifice some demountable buildings, we were impressed to see the consideration that has gone into designing flexible learning and break out areas so that individual learnings are uninterrupted.”
“Heading into Christmas holidays we have quite the schedule to complete while everyone is away due to access requirements across the grounds. We are excited to be working with a great group of suppliers and subcontractors again and of course, the Department of Education and Altus Group. Congratulations Sunnybank Hills State School, we are looking forward to seeing the finished product.” Said Wilson.
