Next week will see the release of an information brochure to prospective buyers of the Ingham’s poultry business. Beef Central are reporting it as "One of the biggest meat protein plays in Australia since the JBS purchase of AMH/Swift in 2007."
There are a number of factors weighing on the profitability of protein production in Australia including grain pricing, the carbon tax, and the poultry retail price competition currently playing out between Coles and Woolworths.
Interest has already been reportedly shown by New Zealand’s, Tegel Foods along with international interest from Turkey, The US and Brazil.
