Project Description
Project scope
To develop an efficient, flexible, and cost saving solution for Alliance, Wiley Engineers developed a unique processing flow layout and system to support the complex requirements of handling multiple species and sizes. The bespoke solution orients animals of different sizes into a range of positions, minimising operational complexity and processing time, while maximising yield.
Put simply, this makes processing easier and faster.
Wiley delivered the complex processing system, supervised the manufacture installation and handover, and developed safety systems, processes, and a control system.
Wiley’s meat industry specialists bring a strong understanding of the complexities involved in meat processing. This knowledge, combined with decades of experience and our future focussed approach, helps our meat clients remain competitive and embrace new technologies and methodologies.
Business value to client
The successful completion of this project provided Alliance with many benefits:
- Improved utilisation of existing space to increase processing efficiencies
- Increased venison processing rates
- Increased capitalisation on the manufacturing cow season (towards the end of the venison season), as the new processing system now handles all sizes of stock up to 600kg
